Day 4, May 30, 2007

I work in Cubeville for a major cellular company. For my photos for today, I took random photos at my desk with my camera phone.

Day 3, May 29, 2007

When I moved to Little Rock 2 years ago, I was amazed to learn that Little Rock proper has hills and a mountain. Now, it's just part of the scenery and is what I see off the balcony at work every day.

Day 2, May 28, 2007

Day 1, May 27, 2007

I'm at the end of a week (weeks and themes change on Mondays), so I picked 2 recent themes that I knew I could play with and acted upon them. I picked water and spring and found things around our home that reflected both.

I've decided to call this last one "Nirvana", thanks to my husband's suggestion. We hung this hummingbird feeder up a couple weeks ago and we think that we didn't receive any feathered customers due to it being obscured by the oak leaves. Upon inspection of the feeder, I did see that there were several dozen (if not hundred) temporarily euphoric ants floating around. Just for those brief moments I'm sure they thought they were in heaven...

Why 365

I've been contemplating the notion of starting a 365 blog for quite some time. I've just never gotten around to it.

I started by trying to take daily pictures of my daughter and blogging about her, but that failed miserably. I mean, there's only so much photography you can do of just your child before you start taking the same photo over again!

People I guess were kind of surprised that I hadn't started one yet. Afterall, I'm a recovering 'professional' photographer. I have a degree in Journalism. I studied photography in High School. I still love doing it and people compliment me on my photos all the time.

Here's the part that will MOST surprise people. All of my photos are NOT done with a professional-scale camera. I don't own one (though I'll accept donations!). All my photos are (and will be) done with either my Cybershot 2Mp camera OR my 2Mp Samsung Sync camera phone. Oddly, they both seem to take rather decent photos.

Most of what makes a good photo is not the camera, really, but what the photographer creates and sees himself (or herself in this case) when taking the photo. Not every photo I take is good. I keep and display maybe 10% of what I take. The rest immediately get the big ole' "DELETE".

So, pray I can fill up 365 days of photos of random crap in my life :) I think I got a decent start today.
