Day 18, June 13, 2007

One hundred eleven years.. That's how long ago this Cinderella shoe was purchased for my great-grandmother's fifth birthday. It's now basically an heirloom in my family. I refuse to have it appraised.

Day 17, June 12, 2007

... And it all comes tumbling down.

This week's theme is "Vintage". Though most of the country finds this a familiar symbol of a form of commercialism in America it's now considered old or even obsolete by some. At work, we no longer say "Cingular" as I now work for AT&T. Soon, the 8-foot sign above the front door at work will be removed to be replaced by a large, blue sphere. Hence, why these photos would be considered "vintage".

Speaking of work, tonight, I jumped the fence in our backyard again to talk to Deb (Deb lives right behind us. Her back fence is falling down and there's really no jumping to be done, just "stepping over". Deb is a manager at my work). On my way back, I saw that our rose had bloomed more and I took a photo. I was impressed once I pulled it up in editor to see the extreme detail I got in the original photo. I photoshopped it for the purpose of drawing the eye and just for fun.

Day 16, June 11, 2007

I see this automobile every day at work. It's held together by bungee cords. The battery is attached to the bed of the truck, yet, its age intrugues me.

Day 15, June 10, 2007

We decided to have a family outing today at Petit Jean State Park near Morrilton, AR . Unfortunately, storms were rolling in as we got there, but it still made for a good time. George and I want to go back sans Kathryn to do the hiking trails when we're not dodging lightning bolts.

Overlooking the Arkansas River from the top of the mountain.

The remains of College Lodge, near Petit Jean's gravesite.

Day 14, June 9, 2007

My father told me it would most likely take a year for our rose bushes to bud again after we relocated them last month to another part of our yard. Ha!

Day 13, June 8, 2007

The doctor says they're bug bites. Apparently she's getting them on the playground at school. No more playing in the tall grass of that side of the yard! It DID send a panic through our house though!
